How to Create a Workout Plan for Beginners
Get Started: Create Your Workout Plan
Are you a fitness newbie looking to whip up a super cool workout plan but don’t know where to begin? Don’t sweat it! You’ve just hit the workout jackpot. This guide is for you! Forget the super fit athletes lifting heavy weights on TV; we’ll start small and make big progress together.
Pick Your Goals
First things first, what is your fitness goal? Want to lose weight, gain muscle, or increase your stamina for that Saturday morning football session? Maybe you want to achieve all three? No problem, it’s important to have clear goals. This will motivate you and keep you on track.
Start Slow, Build Up
Now let’s get into the nitty-gritty. It’s time to carve out your plan. Start with 3 days a week. As a beginner, it’s ideal not to push too hard at the start. Your body needs time to adjust. Over time, you can increase the number of days you spend working out.
Choose Your Workout
There are plenty of workouts to choose from. We suggest a mix of Cardio for heart health and weight loss, Strength Training for building muscle and improving core strength, and Flexibility Exercises for ensuring agility and smooth movements. A mix of these will help you cover all bases.
Keep It Balanced
Remember to keep your workouts balanced. This means not focussing too heavily on one type of exercise. You want a flat tummy but also strong arms and healthy heart, right?
Workout Duration
Working out for hours is not necessary for beginners. Start with 20 to 30 minutes for each workout session and gradually work on increasing the duration.
Rest Is Essential
Between your workout days, take a rest day! It’s on these days your body heals and your muscles grow. Remember, more rest equals more gain.
Track Your Progress
Keep a workout diary. Yes, you heard it right. Keeping a record of your workout routine and how you felt during each session can help you adjust your plan and make important tweaks.
This may seem a lot, but remember, everyone was a beginner at some point. Patience and consistency will eventually get you to your goals.
